Oswego County Holiday Farmers Market
The Oswego County Holiday Farmers Market, which took place on Saturday, December 5, 2009, was a GREAT success!
The Lindovskis' of Narrowgate Farm provided a wool spinning demonstration, which caught the attention of many. Some people had the opportunity to sit at the spinning wheel and try their hand at spinning the fleece to yarn. The demo was sponsored by Arts and Culture.
Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Polly Knapp demonstrated how to make holiday centerpieces using flowers, pinecones and fresh boughs. Two centerpieces were given away

Thank you to all of the vendors who each brought their wonderful products to market, providing a wide variety for the customers:

  • Aplaca fiber goods from Salmon River Alpacas
  • Fresh eggs and maple products from Heritage Hill Farm
  • Locally grown potatoes and New York Bold onions from Dylan Sorbello
  • Oswego County's own winery Ashley Lynn Winery
  • Elk meat and marinades from Mountain Ash Elk Ranch
  • Apples, statice wreaths, holly balls, and holly & greens from Fruit Valley Orchards

A special thank you to Santa, who made a special visit to the market in the morning.

The success of the market would not have been possible without the support of the community. Thank you to the 400 or more people who took the time to come and support Oswego County local agriculture.
