State Fair Teen Leaders - (download pdf form)
It’s that time of year when plans start being made for the New York State Fair. There are many opportunities available in the Youth Building for teen 4-H’ers to develop and improve their leadership skills while having fun. We will be in the first time slot of the fair, August 26-29. Oswego County is seeking teens that are interested in being Teen Leaders to work at our county’s interactive booth or other positions throughout the youth building in addition to those teens that will be selected for Clothing Revue models. The positions are listed below. All youth that work at the NYS Fair as Teen Leaders are the responsibility of the Oswego County 4-H Program. If there is not adequate chaperone coverage, fewer teen leaders can go. We must maintain our youth/chaperone ratio. The other option is to commute daily from Oswego County.

Help Needed!
Who: Anyone - 4-H'ers, Parents. Leaders, Volunteers
When: Friday August 27, 2010
Where: NYS Fairgrounds Tram Ride
Why: To Raise Money Fot The Oswego County 4-H Youth Program

Once again the Oswego County 4-H Program has been given the opportunity to earn money for our 4-H Program by working on the tram rides at the New York State Fair. This is a GREAT opportunity for our county 4-H program to earrn money and have fun at the same time! Working on the trams gives you an opportunity to see the entire fairgrounds without getting tired legs and feet as well as an opportunity to share the sights and inside information about the fair to other fairgoers! It does include a free pass for each participant into the fairgrounds and plenty of free time to catch the attractions and sample the great smelling foods of the fair.

There are 9 trams that we must provide workers for between the hours of 9:00am and 7:00pm. Each tram will be staffed with a fair employee as well. Our volunteers and 4-H'ers do not have to handle any money! The more people that sign up - the more fun it is and the easier it is to accommodate everyone's scheduling needs. It will depend on the number of participants how long each work shift will be. We would like a total of 36 volunteers - this would make it an easy day for all!

Leaders: Schedule a field trip for your club to the NYS Fair on August 27th.
Members: Grab Mom and Dad and sign up for a fun day at the fair!
Parents & Volunteers: We need you! You already know how important the trips, awards and benefits the 4-H'ers receive from Sponsor Council.
